Glad to hear it. Kelly is such a, what, nice guy, cool guy, non-violent guy? Words escape me, but I’ll escape myself by ripping off Douglas Adams: Kelly is one of those people who, after conversing with them for even a short period, makes you feel, “Well, that’s all right then.” The world needs more Kelly Shanes. For that matter, the world needs more Mike Colemans. And fewer I. Lewis “Scooter” Libbys.
I’ve just had a little spasm of repeating “Your Brilliant Return to Form.” In the past, that would have been fueled by romantic angst (ah, the times I’ve screamed along with that one), but not just what a good heavy fucking song it is. Mike (and anyone else): what are you currently listening to obsessively? My current obsessions: Kiwi Rock and the Dirtbombs. I like the new Dino Jr. album a lot but I don’t love it; same goes for the new Patti Smith and the new Thurston Moore.
